After another successful two games in October, Poland are so close to qualifying for the play-offs but are also not far away from topping Group I with England three points in front of the White and Reds.

Paulo Sousa’s men have been on a brilliant run of form after their horror EURO 2020 campaign. After the dismal summer, Poland have recorded four wins and one draw in the World Cup Qualifiers which sees them occupy second place in Group I.

The White and Reds faced Albania in their final game of the October international break with Sousa’s men battling adversity to claim a well-earned 1-0 win.

It took until the 77th minute for the deadlock to be broken as Karol Swiderski latched onto a pinpoint Mateusz Klich cross. The forward smashed his first-time volley beyond Etirt Berisha as he wheeled off to celebrate.

However, the Poles were met by angry Albanian fans in the corner who threw water bottles at them which caused the match to be suspended.

After a 15-minute break in play, the game restarted and Poland held onto their 1-0 lead with relative ease as they moved up to second ahead of the Eagles who subsequently dropped to third.

Poland’s opponents this time around, Andorra, secured their first victory after three consecutive defeats against England and Hungary.

The Andorrans were able to beat San Marino with ease as they scored three times and limited their hosts to only one shot on target.

Inside the first 10 minutes of the game, the visitors opened the scoring through Marc Pujol as they looked to cruise past Franco Varrella’s side.

However, they were unable to add to their lead during the remainder of the first half but were able to hit the back of the net twice in the second period.

Firstly, Sergi Moreno scored the second eight minutes into the half with Ricard Fernández Betriu scoring the third in the 89th minute to earn a comfortable 3-0 win for Andorra.

In the first fixture between Poland and Andorra, the White and Reds came out with a brilliant 3-0 victory as Sousa’s men bombarded Iker Álvarez’s goal all game long.

Robert Lewandowski’s double put the game beyond the visitors as a goal from Swiderski in the final minutes of the game saw Poland cruise to their first win in the World Cup Qualifiers.

The White and Reds have only faced Andorra twice and have won on both occasions with Sousa’s men looking to extend that run to three games unbeaten against the Tricolours.

A victory would more or less confirm Poland’s spot in the World Cup play-offs but they’ll also keep one eye on the England versus Albania game as a draw or loss for the Three Lions would see the White and Reds move closer to them heading into the final game of the Qualifiers.
