Bolton players refuse to train for 48 hours over unpaid wages

Bolton Wanderers players are refusing to train for 48 hours after staff members were not paid their salaries on time for the second month in a row.

According to reports from BBC Radio Manchester the players have also yet to be paid and are taking action on behalf of the staff.

Bolton staff were also paid their February wages late, with them finally being receiving their salaries for that month in mid-March.

Staff were told that the club would ensure their salaries were paid on Friday should the club’s takeover be completed.

Chairman Ken Anderson on Wednesday informed staff at the club that he had agreed a deal in principle for the Wanderers to be sold and was hopeful of the takeover being completed “within 48 hours”. The takeover has yet to go through.
