Ipswich Town midfielder upbeat despite relegation woes

Blues midfielder Trevoh Chalobah remains confident that Ipswich Town can turn their fortunes around following a battling display at Stoke City this afternoon.

The Suffolk side fell to a 2-0 defeat – their ninth game without victory – at the Bet365 Ground and remain rock bottom of the Sky Bet Championship.

However, the on-loan Chelsea midfielder is confident that the Blues can turn around the eight point deficit between themselves and safety before the end of the season.

Speaking after the 2-0 defeat to Stoke, Chalobah said:

“The result obviously wasn’t what we wanted but we held our own against players that have played at the highest level.

“Their goal just before half-time was a big blow but we didn’t let our heads drop because we had been playing well.

‘The manager has given us a plan for every game we’ve gone into and again you could see that today.

“He’s brought confidence into the team and that’s still there. We need to stick together and the results should come.”
