Martin O’Neill has been sacked as Nottingham Forest manager after just five months in charge of the club.
The sacking has occurred after O’Neill is rumoured to have fallen out with a number of key players at the club at the City Ground. The former Republic of Ireland boss won just eight of his 19 games in charge last season after taking over in January.
Forest announced the 67-year-old’s departure in a short statement on the clubs website, thanking “Martin for all his efforts during his time at The City Ground and wish him well for the future.”
The Championship club have acted fast in naming their replacement immediately as Sabri Lamouchi takes over from the Forest club legend.
Frenchman Lamouchi has previously managed the Ivory Coast, El Jaish and Rennes before arriving for his first job in England.
47-year-old Lamouchi also had a distinguished playing career for the likes of Inter Milan, Monaco and Marseille and will bring team of six backroom staff with him in his new role.
