West Ham have confirmed that Andy Carroll, Samir Nasri and Adrian will all leave the Hammers when their contracts expire on June 30.
The trio are all deemed surplus to requirements by West Ham, who are keen on making room for potential in-comings this summer.
Andy Carroll made just 14 appearances all season for the London Club as persistent injury niggles troubled the striker once again. Since permanently joining the club in May 2013 from Liverpool for a reported 15 million pound fee, a club record at the time, Carroll’s career at West Ham has been plagued with injuries, not enabling him to sustain any form of consistency. This has led the 30-year old to make 102 Premier League appearances for the side, scoring 26 goals.
Adrian, who over the past two seasons has found himself mostly sidelined as the back-up goalkeeper for the Hammers, leaves the club after making 150 appearances since arriving on a free transfer from Real Betis six years ago.
Meanwhile experienced Frenchmen Samir Nasri ends a brief spell at the London Stadium, having joined West Ham in January following a successful training period with the club. The former Arsenal and Manchester City star struggled to make an impact and departs with just six appearances to his name.
Chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold issued a statement praising the outgoing players for their services for the club:
“Andy (Carroll) and Adrian have both been great servants to West Ham United throughout their time at the Club and we thank them for their loyalty and commitment to the Claret and Blue cause.
Both have provided us and our fellow supporters with some unforgettable moments, whether they were sensational scissor kicks and unstoppable headers in Andy’s case, or penalty saves and goals in Adrian’s.”
They can both be assured of warm welcomes whenever they return to London Stadium and we wish them, as well as Samir Nasri and the young players whose contracts are up this summer, the very best for their future careers.”
Striker Toni Martinez will also leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June. The Spaniard spent last season on loan with Rayo Majadahonda and Lugo in Spain’s Second Division.
