FOXBOROUGH, MA – New England Revolution Academy midfielder Logan Azar has been named the club’s Academy Player of the Year, adding another significant achievement to a promising young career that has already featured professional experience, an All-Star selection, and continued progression through the Revolution’s development system.

Throughout the 2025–26 academy season, Azar established himself as a key contributor for New England’s Under-16 side, recording five goals and six assists while showcasing his creativity, technical ability, and attacking instincts.

The Hudson, Massachusetts native demonstrated his versatility in midfield, combining his vision and composure in possession with an ability to create scoring opportunities for his teammates. His performances earned him recognition within the organization and opened the door to opportunities beyond the academy level.

In April 2026, Azar reached a significant milestone when he made his professional debut for New England Revolution II against Red Bull New York II.

The appearance introduced the young midfielder to MLS NEXT Pro, where the increased physicality, faster pace of play, and tactical demands presented a new challenge compared to academy competition.

Competing against older and more experienced opposition provided Azar with valuable exposure to the professional game, particularly the importance of making quick decisions and maintaining possession under pressure.

His accomplishments continued during the summer when he was selected to participate in the 2026 MLS NEXT All-Star Game, earning recognition among the league’s standout academy prospects.

Azar made his presence felt during the showcase, registering an assist as the Eastern Conference defeated the Western Conference.

The performance highlighted his ability to create opportunities against some of North America’s top young players while representing the Revolution on a national stage.

Azar also received praise from former New England Revolution forward and current MLS analyst Taylor Twellman, who identified the midfielder as a player to watch.

The recognition from Twellman, one of the most accomplished players in Revolution history, added another notable moment to a year already filled with individual accomplishments.

Beyond his on-field achievements, Azar’s emergence underscores the Revolution’s continued emphasis on identifying and nurturing local talent.

Through the Revolution Academy and Revolution II, New England has established a pathway for promising young players to gain professional experience while working toward opportunities with the MLS first team.

As a Massachusetts native, Azar represents another example of the talent emerging from the region and making an impact within the club’s youth system.

His selection as the Revolution Academy Player of the Year caps a memorable 2026 campaign, recognizing his contributions and accomplishments across multiple levels of competition.

The New England Revolution Academy Player of the Year award was established in 2014 and is presented annually to the most outstanding amateur player in the club’s professional development pathway.

Azar joins a distinguished group of previous Revolution Academy Player of the Year recipients, including Justin Rennicks, Noel Buck, Jack Panayotou, Olger Escobar, Eric Klein, and Javaun Mussenden. The Hudson native is the 12th different player to receive the honor since its introduction in 2014.

Looking ahead to 2027, Azar will aim to build upon his professional experience and compete for a more consistent role with Revolution II as he continues pursuing his ultimate goal of reaching the first team.

For the young midfielder, the award serves as a fitting conclusion to a standout year and an encouraging sign of what could lie ahead in his professional career.
