FOXBOROUGH, MA — Per sources, the New England Revolution are loaning midfielder Allan Oyirwoth to Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic F.C. through May 31, 2027, with a purchase option.
From New England’s perspective, the loan opens both a senior roster slot and an international roster slot, creating additional roster flexibility as the club continues to navigate the secondary transfer window.

Allan Oyirwoth is a 19-year-old, 6’1, 165lb, midfielder from Amor, Pakwach, Uganda.
At the club level, Oyirwoth has made 116 career appearances, logging 2,687 minutes across competitions in the United States.
A product of Amus College School and several other clubs in Uganda, Oyirwoth began his professional career with the New England Revolution in 2025 after signing a four-year contract through the 2028 season, with a club option for 2029.
Across his club career in the United States, Oyirwoth has made 35 appearances, totaling 2,687 minutes played across all competitions. During that span, he has recorded two goals while receiving nine yellow cards and one red card.
On the international stage, Oyirwoth represents the Uganda national team.

Reporting with Sam Lattof of The Blazing Musket, sources confirmed to us on August 2, 2026, that New England Revolution midfielder Allan Oyirwoth is set to join Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic F.C. on loan.
Oyirwoth, 19, has spent the majority of his professional career developing with New England Revolution II in MLS NEXT Pro while also making first-team appearances for the Revolution in Major League Soccer and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
European interest in the young Ugandan midfielder is nothing new. Prior to this move, Oyirwoth had attracted attention from clubs across Europe as his reputation continued to grow, making a loan abroad a logical next step in his development.

Back in September, it was reported that several European clubs, including Premier League side Chelsea, La Liga club Atlético Madrid, and Scottish Premiership side Celtic F.C., were monitoring Oyirwoth.
The 19-year-old, who nearly signed with Spanish side Cádiz CF before joining the Revolution, has been on the radar of European clubs since last summer. Sources indicated that interest had intensified in recent weeks, although discussions at the time remained in the preliminary stages.
Now, Oyirwoth gets his opportunity in Europe, where he will have the chance to continue his development and take the next step in his professional career.
Again, sources indicate the loan runs through May 31, 2027, and includes an option for Dunfermline Athletic to make the move permanent.
