Portland Timbers Briefly

On the tale of the tape, San Diego F.C. has the overall edge versus the Portland Timbers, with an overall possession rate of 58.1% versus the Rose City side with a mere 49.5%, shots 13.2 to the Timbers 12.2, and shots at goal 5.1 to the Timbers 4.3.

Not so good news, I must state, but this team showed its true colors in the elimination Wildcard game against Real Salt Lake and delivered with a convincing score of 3 to 1 with a brace from Felipe Mora in the 24th and 35th minutes and Kamal Miller in the 82nd minute.

Nothing is written as they say, with the Portland Timbers responding and its notable players delivering, I foresee a one-sided series for the Rose City side if these come ready and decide to wrap this one up!

It is a long trek, but not impossible to conquer as these Timbers are for real and looking for the upset against San Diego FC, even at home, where they tied back at the score of 1-1.

This team is serious when it comes to playing offense as well, looking forward to wrapping it up in two matches if they are ready with a star-powered lineup and starting eleven looking to deliver when it counts.

Everyone was ready in the RSL match, as manager Neville stated about his team being mentally ready and looking forward to a win, as well as the levels of confidence being at an all-time high, very well ready to deliver.

As manager Phil Neville stated that no one gives you the game as everyone was thinking playoffs after saying that no one knocks at your door and gives you whatever you want, and this one trait that the former Manchester United and Everton great said in the end.

As you have to earn it, period!

As he said that jolted the supporters, the owner, the GM, and most of all the players, the ones that give their all in the field and deliver wins, as Neville has tried many starting elevens and in conclusion, this time, one amazing eleven delivered.

San Diego F.C. Briefly

For San Diego manager Mickey Varas, being touted as manager of the year is a big achievement in her first year at the helm. After all, the man led San Diego to the top of the Western Conference as well as being in the finals for the Sigi Schimdt Award given to the Coach of the Year.

A team that made all sorts of headlines during the course of this season, with its captain and all-around international player in Hirving “Chucky” Lozano, and its newcomer of the year in Anders Dreyer.

This team made all sorts of headlines and finished with 63 points and shattering LAFC’s record of 57 points back in 2018. This is seen as an all-around achievement for this expansion club.

Lozano and Dreyer are very lethal in attack as well its defense gets very stingy against opposing strikers. This is a team made to perfection and that almost got in the race for the Supporters Shield.
