Gevork Diarbian had the next chance for New England in the 36th minute when his effort was sent over the crossbar.
In the 42nd minute, Revolution forward Liam Butts was issued a yellow card.
Just three minutes later, in the 45th minute, Revolution midfielder Eric Klein was issued a yellow card for fouling David Poreba.
After the initial 45+1 minutes, the match entered halftime with the scoreline level at 0-0.

The second half began with New England starting from the center circle as they elected to build out of the back on the right flank.
Victor Souza had the best chance of the match in the 49th minute when his headed effort from a corner kick went just over the bar.
Liam Butts had the next chance for New England in the 55th minute when his strike towards goal was met with a diving save by goalkeeper David Molenda.

David Poreba had the next chance just 3 minutes later when his close-range effort was met with a great save by goalkeeper Donovan Parisian.
In the 80th minute, Revolution defender Victor Souza was issued a yellow card. Following the card, Revolution II head coach Richie Williams made his first two changes of the match by replacing Cristiano Oliveira & Malcolm Fry with Alex Monis & Javaun Mussenden.

Following a delivery into the area by Dylan Borso the ball was headed home by David Poreba to make it 1-0 to Chicago Fire FC II.
Following the goal, Revolution II head coach Richie Williams made his third and fourth changes of the match by replacing Liam Butts & Hesron Barry with Damorney Hutchinson & Sharod George.
Just two minutes later, in the 88th minute, Chicago Fire FC II midfielder Geni Kanyane was issued a yellow card for time wasting.
Less than a minute later, Chicago Fire FC II midfielder Damian Nigg was issued a yellow card for time wasting.
In the 90th minute, Chicago Fire FC II head coach Mike Matkovich made his first change by replacing David Poreba with Josue Pfrommer.
