FC Dallas 3-1 LAFC

FRISCO, TX–FC Dallas kept their playoff hopes alive in a big way by defeating LAFC, 3-1, at Toyota Stadium. The win puts FCD within five points of the playoff line behind Minnesota (winners over San Jose) with four matches to play. Meanwhile, LAFC are now winless in their last five and drop to fourth in the Western Conference, just one point clear of 5th place Houston.

LAFC’ had one eye on Wednesday’s US Open Cup Final vs. Sporting Kansas City with its lineup. FC Dallas would take full advantage. Petar Musa took advantage of a sloppy giveaway in their own third of the pitch and would beat Thomas Hasel far post to put FCD ahead. Musa would leave the match ten minutes later with the knock.

The second FC Dallas goal came at the hour mark as Logan Farrington fed Patrickson Delgado who scored from outside the area. Farrington would get a goal of his own two minutes later after picking up a diagonal ball from Jesus Ferreira.

Eduard Atesa would add a consolation goal for the visitors in the 86th minute, but it was FC Dallas’s night as they keep their playoff hopes alive while LAFC’s chance at a home playoff series have take a hit.

FC Dallas are now 9-4-2 at home and will continue to be home on Saturday night as they host Houston Dynamo next Saturday at 7:30pm CT (Apple TV).
