SMITHFIELD, RI— Rhode Island FC (2-9-4, 15 pts.) were victorious 5-2 over Louisville City FC (11-2-3, 35 pts.) on Saturday.
The match kicked off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky to a crowd of 4,000.

The match began with Rhode Island starting from the center circle. They swiftly elected to launch the ball into Louisville’s defensive third.

After receiving the ball on the right flank, midfielder Clay Holstad elected for a long shot that struck the top left corner post and into the net for the 1-0 advantage.
Louisville then had a chance in the 32nd minute when midfielder #25 Jansen Wilson’s effort was calmly saved by Jackson Lee.
Just 3 minutes later, Louisville forward #14 Wilson Harris’ header went high over the net.

Just moments after receiving the ball on the left flank, midfielder Jojea Kwizera took on a defender and took a low-driven shot that snuck into the bottom right corner to add to RIFC’s lead just before halftime.

The second half kicked off with Louisville starting from the center circle and quickly launching the ball into RIFC’s defensive third.

In a 2 versus 1 scenario, forward Noah Fuson found JJ Williams with a square pass that then led for Williams to chip the ball into the net for the 3-0 advantage.
In the 72nd minute, Louisville City head coach Danny Cruz made his fourth and final change of the match by replacing defender #5 Arturo Ordoñez with midfielder #22 Dylan Mares.
