Prost International is proud to announce that author and broadcaster Kartik Krishnaiyer has agreed to become Prost International’s  second guest columnist.

He joins former Independent writer Glenn Moore who became our first columnist last week.

Kartik has written about football for over 15 years after initially serving as a press officer and communications director for multiple US-based professional soccer leagues including the NASL and clubs including the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

He is the former “Premier League Expert” for bout.com and wrote for the London-based Sport Business from early 2018 to late 2019 on more financially themed issues.

Kartik has contributed to several newspapers as well as Howler Magazine, The Eleven and The Yanks are Coming website. Nowadays, he is best known in the USA as the Senior Writer for World Soccer Talk, a respected website which reaches almost 80,000 readers through its twitter account and other social media.

He also served as Editor of Bitter and Blue, a UK-based Manchester City fan website.

Krishnaiyer is a published author

More recently, he has been a frequent contributor on TalkSport in England, He is on air  four times a week where he discusses al maters EFL; previewing and reviewing the week’s action.

His first piece will examine the survival credentials of Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest as they seek to build on their promotion from the EFL.

An established author, he wrote “Blue with Envy” in 2014, a book about his long distance but growing relationship with Manchester City.

Two years later, he completed his second book; Soccerwarz: Inside America’s Soccer Feud Between MLS, NASL and USL.

Journalists prepared to be independent and critical of the soccer establishment were not universal in the early ‘noughties’, and Kartik and Prost Amerika found themselves frequent bedfellows fairly frequently on the wrong side of that establishment’s discontent.

A respect between Kartik, World Soccer Talk, Prost Amerika and its owner Steve Clare began then and has grown over almost two decades of watching each other progress while fiercely guarding their journalistic independence.

But, as Krishnaiyer states, it was the future as much as the past that convinced hm to join Prost:

“The number of sports journalism universities already in partnership with, and providing writers to, Prost International was a major attraction.

“I’m excited to join this team and be part of one of the youngest and most promising rosters of writers covering the sport in the English language.

“I worked closely with Steve previously at Soccerly and Prost Amerika and it’s been among the most fulfilling experiences in nearly two decades of working in and around this sport. Few have that passion for both sport and journalism that Steve balanced so well in the USA.

“But it’s not just the possibility of working alongside established and experienced journalists like Glenn Moore. Yes, I look forward to joining Prost International’s rotation of established guest columnists but also the great honor of coaching and mentoring the next generation of journalists who will now be my colleagues.

“Having been told some of the other names yet to arrive, I look forward to contributing to a publication that will feature some of the strongest independent and analytical voices in English football and other sports, both present and future.”

Since 2006, Kartik has hosted or co-hosted several podcasts about world football but this new venture will see him write for English readers for the first time in several years.

Hie inaugural article will appear on Monday June 20, 2022.

Please look out for further announcments about future columnists who will be joining our team, from the worlds of football and cricket.
