0

After a long gruelling season, we are now down to the final four sides who will contest this weekends Grand Final Weekend in the Vitality Netball Super League.

In Friday evenings semi-finals, Manchester Thunder face Team Bath at 6.30 pm with Loughborough Lightning entertaining London Pulse at 8.

Thunder finished top of the table, with one game still to play which is against Lightning today Monday.

As of the time of writing, Thunder are unbeaten with a winning one hundred per cent record of 19 wins in a row and a massive goal difference of 316. They have also posted scores of 80 or over on no less than three occasions this season.

All season they have been the side to beat and will start the semi-final as very strong favourites to make it through to Sunday’s Grand Final at the Copper Box Arena.

Last weekend, Thunder defeated Pulse at the Copper Box 56-50 to maintain their unbeaten record.

Team Bath finished in fourth place in the table after winning eleven games this season. In Round 19 last weekend, Bath just held off the visiting Wasps by two goals to record a 43-41 win.

Thunder have so far beaten Bath twice in the league with scores of 57-53 at Bath and 66-45 on home court.

Lightning have chased down Thunder all season and have remained in contention with Manchester for the top spot all season long, having only one loss so far which was against Thunder in Round 10 when they went down to the Manchester club by five goals at home 66-61.

London Pulse finished the regular season in third place with 14 wins out of 20 matches played.

They wrapped up their league campaign with victory over Leeds Pulse on Saturday 52-45. The London based outfit have yet to beat Loughborough this season having suffered an opening day loss 61-50 and a home defeat 64-44 in Round 11.
