Eastleigh host promotion hopefuls Chesterfield Town whilst Weymouth take on Aldershot.

Eastleigh vs Chesterfield 

Following Ben Strevens’ departure as manager by mutual consent in the week, Eastleigh have a tough first test without him as they welcome automatic promotion candidates Chesterfield to the Silverlake Stadium. 

Since their thrilling 3-2 victory against Weymouth at the beginning of the month, the Spitfires have lost four on the bounce in all competitions, scoring just once in that time.

After giving Dover their first victory of the season on Tuesday evening, Eastleigh have decided it was time for a change with Jason Bristow set to take charge on an interim basis.

Eastleigh fans will feel encouraged that they can pull off the upset of the weekend as they have lost just two league games this campaign. However, it is worth noting, the visitors mirror this record away from Priestfield.

The Spireites head into this game during their worst spell of league form this season, failing to beat struggling Maidenhead and Aldershot in their last two league outings.

Despite the halt in momentum, goal machine Kabongo Tshimanga has continued his fantastic goal scoring form. Three in his last three games means his league tally rose to an impressive 21 goals heading into the month of February.

Weymouth vs Aldershot

Nothing has changed since the departure of Weymouth boss Brian Stock earlier this month. The Terras remain in troubled waters heading into the crucial stages of the season.

Weymouth have not won a league game since October last year with a goal from Omar Mussa enough to secure a narrow 1-0 victory at home to fellow strugglers Kings Lynn Town. 

With Weymouth still without a win in 2022, they will feel Saturday’s encounter against Aldershot has come at the right time with the visitors going through a rough run of form themselves.

One victory in their last seven games has left the Shots’ season in disarray as they are comfortably stuck between the play-off places and relegation zone going into the final three months of the season.

Mark Molesley’s side have more away victories than Weymouth do all season, therefore travelling supporters will be heartened heading to the Bob Lucas Stadium.
