It is a busy night of football for the teams from the North in the Vanarama National League.

Here is a preview of the games tonight and how the sides are likely to get on as the season continues to throw shocks and surprises.

Stockport County v Maidenhead United

Stockport welcome Maidenhead to Edgeley Park in what promises to be an exciting encounter. A win for County could see them go top of the league if results elsewhere go their way.

Dave Challinor’s men have been in outstanding form recently with seven straight wins in a row and scoring 22 goals in the process to laminate their promotion push.

Maidenhead have themselves began a run of form which has seen them take points from other promotion hopefuls including Bromley and more recently FC Halifax Town.

FC Halifax Town v Boreham Wood

Halifax boss Peter Wild will no doubt be looking for his side to bounce back against fellow promotion hopefuls Boreham Wood after a shock defeat to Maidenhead at the weekend.

However, Boreham Wood will be a tough test for Halifax having drawn the reverse fixture back in September after Billy Waters rescued a point at the LV Bet Stadium.

Wrexham v Grimsby Town

Wrexham will be looking to continue were they left off after a fantastic result away to Yeovil Town at the weekend. The result saw them move into a promotion play-off place, and with the arrival of new striker Ollie Palmer from AFC Wimbledon for a club-record fee, they will feel they are in a strong position to secure the play-offs this year.

The Mariners will be desperate to stop the recent slump which has seen them pick up only one win in their last five fixtures which has left them six points away from a promotion play-off spot.
