Germany’s assistant manager, Oliver Bierhoff, believes that it’ll be a ‘real tactical battle’ as France travel to Munich for Group F’s opening game.
Despite their previous woe’s in the 2018 World Cup, the German national team will look to move onto pastures new with a fresh faced side in order to avoid another disappointing tournament.

On home soil and supporters in attendance, Germany will look to kick-start their tournament with a bang.
Having finished rock bottom of their group, Joachim Low’s side now have a big chance to show Europe and the World why Die Mannschaft is a force to be reckoned with once again.
Three years on since their disastrous World Cup campaign, Low has had plenty of time to experiment with different players, tactics and formations. Nobody knows how Germany will line-up. However with the inclusion of Thomas Muller, there’s a chance we will see the formidable 4-2-3-1 formation return.
Although this could be a risky choice, considering how dangerous France are going forward. With the Likes of Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema, structure and resilience will be key in order to keep the current World champions at bay.
With the Chelsea trio of Kai Havertz, Toni Rudiger and Timo Werner, the German side have some big game players. Having recently won the Champions League just over a fortnight ago, it’s likely that we’ll only see Havertz and Rudiger start out of the trio whilst Müller will get the nod over Werner.
Having announced that he’s leaving the reigns of the national team at the end of July, Low has given himself one last chance to redeem himself before stepping down. However, if Germany have another poor tournament – It’ll all be his fault.
Leon Goretzka will not be available for selection despite being able to train, this is due to tearing a muscle whilst with Bayern Munich. This is Die Mannschaft’s only injury heading into the clash against France.
