Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury’s two-fight deal will have all the heavyweight world titles on the line.

Joshua and Fury finally, after a prolonged call-out battle, have signed a two-fight deal, in which will decide who will be the holder of every belt in the heavyweight division. The Gypsy King is putting on the line the WBC belt he snatched away from the American powerhouse Deontay Wilder for and his unbeaten record, whereas Joshua is putting up for grabs his WBA, WBO, IBF & IBO straps.

Unlike Fury, AJ doesn’t have that undefeated status to defend, suffering a shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr back in 2019, however going onto regain his titles in a rematch later that year, but he would love nothing more than being the first man to put a blemish on the 32 year old’s clean record.

English vs English, undefeated champion vs champion. But evidence suggest the Mancunian is the all-round better fighter, which this writer will explain throughout the article.

One of Fury’s central traits in the ring is his movement and speed, despite his large frame and bulk. Fury is a heavyweight that can move like a middleweight. It’s his biggest attribute and frustrates his opponents. This means the London born AJ needs to be on the top of his game, while also improving his cardiovascular endurance in time for the fight as he’s always going to have to be on the move to avoid Fury’s flurry of attacks.

A unique ability that the Gypsy King has possessed over his years is his awkwardness in the ring. His ability to make life difficult for his foes is unparalleled. When they come in to try to land against him, his lengthy arms paw at them and tangle them up and they come away from their attacks with nothing. This leads to his opponents making mistakes, due to their eagerness, patience and frustration.

A new component of his game that we have seen him add is his pure knockout power, mixed with his speed this is a deadly combination for the 31 year old Joshua to deal with. Although Fury has emmassed a total of 21 knockout wins in his 31 bouts so far, he was never known for his fierce power, but more however on his mindgames, this has now changed after seeing him knockout the Bronze Bomber in their rivalry in the 7th round, dispatching any myths of him not possessing the power in the heavyweight division.

Overall this fight is going to be an unmissable match, between two great athletes, two great role models and possibly the two of the best modern day boxers the heavyweight division has ever seen, to eventually see who will be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
