West Brom host Man City in crucial clash

West Bromwich Albion welcome Manchester City to the Hawthorns on Tuesday evening with both sides desperate for three points.

The Baggies are currently in a spot of bother, occupying 19th place, routed in the relegation zone and six points adrift of safety, despite hiring survival specialist Sam Allardyce in mid-December.

They have conceded 19 goals in their seven matches under Allardyce so far, highlighting their defence as a point of weakness – something you would expect Man City to exploit.

The boost that three points could bring to West Brom would be massive in their bid to avoid the drop, but Pep Guardiola’s side stand in their way as the clear favourites.

After a relatively slow start to the campaign, by their excellent standard, City have silently crept back up the table and are just two points behind rivals and current leaders Manchester United with a game in hand.

Remarkably, the Citizens are unbeaten in SEVENTEEN fixtures, suffering their latest defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on the 21st November.

Should Man City wrap up victory in West Bromwich, Guardiola will see his side positioned top of the league, one point ahead of second place.

Head to Head

The two sides are no strangers to each other, having met 155 times prior to Tuesday night’s clash.

City own the bragging rights with 71 victories to their name.

54 triumphs belong to the Baggies.

It has ended all square on 30 occasions between the opposition.

The last encounter between the two clubs was Slaven Bilic’s last game in charge for West Brom, a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium wasn’t enough to see the Croatian keep his job.
