Arsenal face tricky away assignment at Goodison Park where they face Everton

Arsenal make the trip to Merseyside as the Gunners look to maintain their quest for top four football next season as they face an Everton team who still have a lot to play for.

Despite Marco Silva coming under a fair share of criticism throughout the campaign, Everton are still in contention to qualify for the Europa league following a decent run of results. After beating Chelsea at Goodison Park a few weeks ago, Marco Silva is confident of taking another surprise scalp:

“It is our aim to maintain our standards because we have that quality. We have to keep that focus, desire and put that on the pitch consistently. We have to demand that from ourselves.

If we have a good day, we can win against every team in the Premier League.”

Arsenal are also in an assured mood after an impressive run of recent form where the side have won their past five out of six fixtures. However, the concern around the Emirates is the away form, having taken just 19 points in  their 14 away games this season, only the tenth best in the division. With five out their remaining seven matches on the road, Unai Emery admits consistency away from home is a big challenge:

“We want to achieve the same good performances as when we play at the Emirates Stadium. We have confidence now but we know it’s very difficult.

We’ll have a think about each match coming. (get) the information on how we can take the next matches. Now, each match is worth three points, like Sunday against Everton, which is the most important.”

Ahead of the clash on Sunday Everton are without defender Yerry Mina, who is ruled out for the immediate future having picked up an hamstring injury whilst on international duty with Colombia.

Since arriving at Arsenal, Unai Emery can count himself unlucky on the injury front having seen a trio of his players sustain serious injuries. Hector Bellerin, Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding remain out for the season.

However, there is some good news as Juventus bound Aaron Ramsey is likely to return after recovering from a groin injury and was able to take part in training on Friday. Granit Xhaka and Laurent Koscielny were absentees from the group in the session, instead working with the medical staff as they face a race against time to be fit. A late decision will be taken on them as they undergo a fitness test ahead of the clash against the Toffees.

Everton host Arsenal in a pivotal match for both sides at 14.05 GMT time.
