Jordan Pickford was allegedly involved in an incident in Sunderland on Saturday night. His club Everton are investigating the matter.
A video that surfaced on social media appears to show the England shot-stopper involved in a scuffle on the street outside a pub.
Everton released a statement that said:
“The club has been made aware of an alleged incident involving one of our players and we are looking into the matter.”
Pickford featured in Everton’s 2-0 win over West Ham on Saturday at the London Stadium.
During the 2018 World Cup he played a key role as England reached the semi-finals for the first time since 1990.
Pickford saved a penalty from Colombia’s Carlos Bacca to help England win a penalty shootout in the World Cup for the first time.
