Kante commits long term future to Chelsea

N’golo Kante has signed a new 5 year deal at Stamford Bridge, extending his stay at Chelsea until 2023.

The French midfielder has signed a deal which will see him be amongst the best paid in the Premier League, after a World Cup winning summer with his national side. The combative midfielder has won two Premier League titles and an FA Cup in his time in the Premier League, with Leicester City and Chelsea, and will be hoping he can add to his trophy cabinet under Maurizio Sarri.

Since the arrival of the new manager and the addition of Jorginho to the Chelsea ranks, Kante has had to adapt to a new position in the side which has further underlined his professional attitude and versatility across the pitch.

Kante himself claims he has improved all aspects of his game since the 2016 move from Leicester City to the capital. The Parisian was pivotal in that shock Premier League win for Leicester and proved just as important whens stepping up to the Chelsea side. His tenacious ball winning style makes him a favourite amongst both the staff and fans of clubs all around the world.

The 27 year old has gained a form of cult status in the football world for his humble attitude and reluctance to be in the spotlight, this was exemplified when Kante arrived to training in his Mini Cooper, with a duct taped wing mirror after a minor collision with a lorry.

But his ability on the pitch is where it counts most and both Kante and Sarri will be hoping he can fill these next five years with more trophies to add to the cv. Chelsea find themselves just four points off Manchester City at the top of the table but face a tough task this weekend when they visit Wembley to take on Tottenham.
