Brian Ching was the biggest name omission from Bob Bradley’s 23-man-squad for the World Cup announced today. On form Los Angeles Galaxy forward Edson Buddle made the cut, as did recently recovered Milan centre half Oguchi Onyewu. Bolton’s Stuart Holden is another player who has just recovered from injury in time to make the cut.

Heath Pearce, Chad Marshall, Alejandro Bedoya, Sacha Kljestan, Robbie Rogers and Eddie Johnson were the other six omitted from the original 30 man provisional roster.

Former Sounder Marcus Hahnemann is in the squad as Bradley opted to take three goalkeepers.

  1. Brian Ching out and Findley in is the surprise pick for me. Thought it was going to be the other way around. Everything else though seems to be as most expected it.

    Yeah, yeah, whatever. We’re doomed.

After 2006 they promised us a “real” coach, yet we got stuck with Bradley. Herein lie the consequences of that inaction.

I predict we squeeze through the group stage but then are walloped again by Ghana in round 2.
