Spanish teenage sensation Carlos Alcaraz continues his winning ways

Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz completed a phenomenal week with victory over defending champion Alexander Zverev in the final of the Madrid Open.

The young Spaniard, who had already beaten Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic this week, swept aside the German number two seed in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.

It is Alcaraz’s second Masters 1000 crown after winning in Miami last month and his fourth title already this year.

As it stands, at the moment this sensational Spanish youngster will be moving up the rankings very quickly and will be in the top five very soon.

The youngster has already been crowned the best player in the world, ahead of Nadal and Djokovic, which is no mean feat for this outstanding youngster.

The tennis world will now be looking ahead to the French Open coming around shortly in Paris, with many experts predicting that Alcaraz could well figure strongly at this event.

Since losing his opening match in Monte Carlo, the 19-year-old has reeled off ten matches in a row to secure titles in Barcelona and Madrid.

Already Alcaraz is the youngest player to beat both Djokovic and Nadal. He has become the first player to beat both superstars in the same clay event and is already the youngest top 10 player since Nadal in 2005.

He has also become the second youngest player to win two Masters titles and youngest player to win five titles since Nadal in 2004-5.

His stamina can’t be ruled out after winning two of the longest matches played this year.

However, he has only played in the main draw at five Grand Slams, only making it past the third round once.

Having said that he is a much-improved player since the start of his early career. His power and attacking shots have improved immensely, and he possesses one of the best drop shots on the tour.

His confidence is sky high at the moment and he is a player who already is being feared by the best.

Last year Alcaraz became the youngest player since Djokovic in 2005 to win a match at the French Open.

Most would now say it’s looking promising for the Spaniard to win more than one match in Paris, and to continue rising up the rankings in 2022.
