Four weeks on after their last Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, Formula 3 returns with the Hungaroring playing host to round four of the Championship.
Frederik Vesti was able to take the race victory as he overtook Championship leader Dennis Hauger to take the win. The Norweigan ended up finishing in second with Prema Racing teammate Olli Caldwell rounding off the podium in third.
The Trident driver led from start to finish as he maintained a healthy gap throughout the race. Frederik Vesti and Dennis Hauger completed the podium as the latter capitalised on a late retirement from Victor Martins.
Dennis Hauger’s heroic drive saw him storm to glory as he made up 11 positions over the 24 lap race. The Norweigan was able to pick up the pieces when Matteo Nannini and Clement Novalak cost themselves a top-three finish.
Championship leader Dennis Hauger took pole in a very hectic qualifying session. The Norweigan will start ahead of Frederik Vesti and Aleksandr Smolyar in Sunday’s Feature Race.

Oli Caldwell was victorious in a hectic second race around Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona as he beat MP Motorsport’s Victor Martins and Frederik Vesti.
Smolyar was victorious in an action-packed curtain raiser for the 2021 Formula Three Championship, ahead of Trident’s Clement Novalak and debutant Caio Collet.
The Prema Racing driver claimed “it will be even more important” to be consistent this season as he spoke to Cameron Anderson-Jones after securing pole position ahead of Sunday’s Feature Race.
