Hauger gains upper hand in title battle as he wins F3’s race three at Zandvoort

Dennis Hauger claimed his fourth victory of the Formula 3 season as the Norweigan holds a 43-point advantage over closest championship rival Jack Doohan.
Jack Doohan was able to fend off the challenge from second place Victor Martins to secure back-to-back race wins. Aleksandr Smolyar completed the podium finishing third with the top three from qualifying retaining their positions throughout the race.
The trio of Jack Doohan, Victor Martins and Aleksandr Smolyar qualified first, second and third respectively ahead of Sunday’s race three.
Jack Doohan set a 2:21.953 early on and it was enough for him to hold onto provisional pole position ahead of Sunday’s race three.
Championship leader Dennis Hauger took pole in a very hectic qualifying session. The Norweigan will start ahead of Frederik Vesti and Aleksandr Smolyar in Sunday’s Feature Race.
Aleksandr Smolyar was victorious in Formula 3’s opening race at the French Grand Prix, ahead of home-hero Victor Martins and Calan Williams who finished third, clinching his maiden F3 podium.
Smolyar was victorious in an action-packed curtain raiser for the 2021 Formula Three Championship, ahead of Trident’s Clement Novalak and debutant Caio Collet.
