Soccer’s battle against cancer is taking place in its highest profile place ever following an announcement from Barcelona.
They confirmed that head coach Tito Vilanova is once more confronting a tumour in a gland in his upper throat.
He had it initially removed 13 months ago.
Barcelona lead La Liga with 15 wins and a draw but will have to defend that lead with an interim manager.
Vilanova is just 44. He will have surgery on the gland on Thursday and undergo 6 weeks of chemotherapy
