FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution have reportedly expressed interest in signing Nigerien midfielder Ali Mohamed from Israeli side Maccabi Haifa FC.
He would occupy a senior roster slot
Ali Mohamed is a 28-year-old, 5’7, 154lb midfielder from Niamey, Niger.
At the club level, Mohamed has played 337 career games (25,300 minutes) across Niger, France, and Israel with AS Fan (2012-13), Bordeaux B (2013-14), AS Fan (2014-15), Beitar Tel Aviv Ramla (2015-16), Maccabi Netanya (2016-19), Beitar Jerusalem FC (2019-21) and Maccabi Haifa FC (2021-Present).
Internationally, Ali has 39 career appearances for the Niger Men’s National Team.
In career numbers, the midfielder has contributed 9 career goals, 24 assists, along with 67 yellow cards and 3 red cards.
According to Igal Goldshtein of Sport5, the New England Revolution are interested in midfielder Ali Mohamed.
The midfielder has played majority of his career in Israel and has been transferred between club on 2 different occasions, once in 2016 for €1,300,000 ($1,396,349), and once in 2019 for €1,170,000 ($1,256,714).
The Secondary MLS Transfer Window opens on Thursday, July 18th and runs until Wednesday, August 14th.
Caleb Porter and the New England Revolution (5-1-10, 16 pts.) head out to Cincinnati, Ohio to face Eastern Conference side FC Cincinatti (11-3-3, 36pts.).
