CHARLOTTE, NC – The MLS All Stars were victorious 4-3 over the Liga BBVA MX All Stars on Wednesday night.
The match kicked off at 8:00 p.m. ET at Bank of America Stadium to a crowd of 35,197.

The match got underway with the MLS All-Stars kicking off from the center circle, choosing to patiently build out from the back to open the contest.
MLS created the first chance of the night inside the opening minute when Anthony Markanich saw his effort toward goal deflected behind for a corner kick.
Following the ensuing short corner, the MLS All-Stars threatened again. Carles Gil slipped a pass forward to Hany Mukhtar, whose shot was denied by Liga MX goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo before the rebound was cleared to safety.
Liga MX registered its first opportunity in the fourth minute when Jesús Garza delivered a dangerous ball into the penalty area, but Lucas Herrington was well positioned to clear the danger.
Entering the 9th minute, LIGA MX took the lead.

Midfielder Carles Gil threaded a perfectly weighted pass into the path of forward Heung-Min Son, who raced into the penalty area from the left flank before calmly slotting his finish into the bottom-right corner past goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo to level the match at 1-1.
Just three minutes later, the MLS All-Stars completed the comeback & took the lead.

Midfielder Carles Gil turned provider once again in the 21st minute, picking out forward Heung-Min Son at the penalty spot. Son made no mistake, calmly finishing into the middle-right side of the net to give the MLS All-Stars a 2-1 lead.
Liga MX responded with another attacking spell in the 27th minute when Jesús Gallardo delivered a dangerous ball into the penalty area, but Columbus Crew defender Steven Moreira cleared it behind for a corner kick.
Two minutes later, Robert Morales rose to meet a cross inside the box, but his header was comfortably gathered by goalkeeper Matt Freese.

The MLS All-Stars threatened again in the 31st minute as Anthony Markanich’s effort flashed just wide of the right post before being cleared away.
Liga MX created one final opportunity before the scheduled hydration break in the 32nd minute, but the shot was blocked by the MLS defense and cleared to safety. Moments later, the referee halted play for the cooling break.
Following the hydration break, the MLS All-Star head coach Dean Smith made a wave of substitutions. Julian Hall, Heung-Min Son, Carles Gil, Yannick Bright, Matt Freese, and Steven Moreira were replaced by Sam Surridge, Guilherme, Pep Biel, Ashley Westwood, Brian Schwake, and Andy Najar.

Surridge made an immediate impact in the 37th minute, driving at two Liga MX defenders before creating space for a right-footed effort that narrowly curled wide of the left post.
In the 40th minute, Liga MX defender Willer Ditta was issued a yellow card for a foul on Sam Surridge & then delaying the restart.
Entering the 42nd minute, MLS added to their lead.

Sam Surridge played a dangerous ball into the penalty area for Guilherme, whose initial shot was blocked. The rebound fell kindly to Philip Zinckernagel, who calmly finished from close range to make it 3-1.
Liga MX nearly pulled one back just before halftime when Juan Brunetta led a quick counterattack before sliding a pass centrally toward Alexei Domínguez, but the MLS defense recovered in time to intercept the ball and clear the danger before a shot could be taken.
The MLS All Stars had a massive chance to add to their lead in the 45+2 minute when a chipped effort inside the box was blocked away by goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo.
After the initial 45+3 minutes, the match entered halftime with MLS All Stars leading 3-1.

Prior to the start of the second half, both teams made a host of substitutions. MLS All-Star head coach Dean Smith replaced Philip Zinckernagel, Hany Mukhtar, Tim Ream, Lucas Herrington, and Anthony Markanich with Evander, Max Arfsten, Anders Dreyer, Daniel Munie, and Jackson Ragen. On the opposite sideline, Liga MX All-Star head coach Antonio Mohamed elected to change his entire lineup.
The second half got underway with the Liga MX All-Stars kicking off from the center circle and patiently building out of the back.
Liga MX created the opening chance of the half in the 50th minute, but Brian Schwake was equal to the effort, making a comfortable save to preserve the MLS advantage.
Three minutes later, Salomón Rondón threatened with an effort inside the penalty area, but his shot was deflected behind for a corner kick.
Entering the 54th minute, Liga MX pulled one back.

Maxime Crépeau came up with two spectacular saves in the 79th minute to preserve the MLS All-Stars’ advantage, first getting down to deny a low-driven effort before reacting quickly to stop the rebound volley from close range.
Liga MX continued to search for another goal and threatened again two minutes later, but the effort drifted just over the crossbar as the MLS All-Stars maintained their 4-2 advantage.
Crépeau was called into action again in the 86th minute, producing another outstanding save to deny José Paradela from 12 yards out and preserve the two-goal cushion.

The MLS All-Stars nearly put the match beyond doubt less than a minute later when Anders Dreyer broke through on goal, but the Liga MX goalkeeper raced off his line and made a superb diving stop to deny the Danish winger.
Liga MX refused to go away, and José Paradela threatened once more in the 88th minute. This time, his long-range effort narrowly cleared the crossbar as the MLS All-Stars continued to hold firm.

Following the match, Los Angeles FC forward Heung-Min Son was named Man of the Match and the 2026 MLS All-Star Game Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his standout performance.
