FOXBOROUGH, MA –New England Revolution (9-2-5, 29 pts.) were victorious 4-1 versus Atlanta United FC (3-2-1, 15 pts.) on Saturday night.
The match kicked off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium to a crowd of 34,000.

The match kicked off with Atlanta United playing the ball backward from the center circle as they looked to build possession from the back.
Atlanta created the first chance of the match in the ninth minute when Miguel Almirón cut in from the left and forced a save from Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Entering the 11th minute, the Revolution capitalized on their first clear opportunity of the match to take a 1-0 lead.

Matt Polster sparked the opening goal in the 11th minute, finding Carles Gil in space. The Revolution captain drove at Tristan Muyumba, beat his defender with ease, and curled a precise left-footed effort into the bottom-left corner to give New England a 1-0 lead.
The Revolution continued to push forward and nearly doubled their advantage in the 25th minute when Dor Turgeman unleashed a long-range strike that was comfortably saved by Atlanta United goalkeeper Lucas Hoyos.
New England did find its second goal entering the 36th minute, extending its advantage to 2-0.

New England doubled its advantage in the 36th minute following a well-worked sequence from a corner kick. After Carles Gil’s delivery was initially cleared, the Revolution patiently recycled possession through Matt Polster, Alhassan Yusuf, and Brooklyn Raines before Yusuf clipped a cross toward the near post. Dor Turgeman met it with a simple finish from close range, tapping the ball beyond Lucas Hoyos to make it 2-0.
Atlanta nearly pulled a goal back in the 40th minute when Miguel Almirón got on the end of a chance inside the box. His left-footed poke beat Matt Turner but struck the post, allowing the Revolution goalkeeper to recover as the danger was eventually cleared.
Almirón threatened again less than a minute later, this time unleashing a powerful effort from distance that forced Turner into a spectacular full-stretch diving save to preserve New England’s two-goal advantage.
After the initial 45+3 minutes, the match entered halftime with New England ahead 2-0.

The second half began with New England controlling possession from the kickoff and patiently working the ball through midfield.
The Revolution created the first opportunity after the restart in the 54th minute when Peyton Miller tried his luck from distance, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.
New England struck again entering the 56th minute, extending its lead to 3-0 and putting the match firmly under its control.

Midfielder Carles Gil quickly worked the ball wide to Alhassan Yusuf, whose pinpoint cross to the back post found Peyton Miller. The Homegrown defender made no mistake, calmly finishing from close range to give the Revolution a commanding 3-0 lead.
Both teams turned to their benches in the 59th minute. Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his first substitution of the evening, replacing Alhassan Yusuf with Jackson Yueill, while Atlanta United head coach Tata Martino responded by bringing on Luke Brennan for Tristan Muyumba.
New England continued its dominant performance entering the 67th minute, adding a fourth goal to put the result beyond doubt.

Brooklyn Raines combined with Jackson Yueill on a give-and-go before racing in behind the Atlanta defense and calmly slotting his finish past Lucas Hoyos to extend the Revolution’s lead to 4-0.
Following the goal, both managers made several changes. Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović introduced Griffin Yow, Luca Langoni, and Wilson Harris in place of Marcos Zambrano, Dor Turgeman, and Peyton Miller. Atlanta United head coach Tata Martino responded by replacing Matthew Edwards with Ronald Hernández.
Atlanta nearly responded immediately, but Matt Turner was alert to comfortably claim an effort on goal less than a minute after the restart.

The Revolution threatened again in the 73rd minute when Griffin Yow unleashed a long-range strike that forced Hoyos into another save.
Both teams made additional substitutions in the 80th minute. Mitrović made his final change of the evening, replacing Matt Polster with Cody Baker, while Martino brought on Enea Mihaj and Cayman Togashi for Stian Gregersen and Fafà Picault.
Atlanta finally found a breakthrough entering the 85th minute, pulling a goal back to cut New England’s lead to 4-1.

After combining on a quick give-and-go with Aleksei Miranchuk, Almirón raced into the penalty area and finished from close range to trim the Revolution’s lead to 4-1.
New England looked to respond in the 88th minute when Will Sands tested Lucas Hoyos, but the Atlanta goalkeeper was well-positioned to make a comfortable save.
Atlanta nearly added another goal less than a minute later as Luke Brennan’s effort drifted just wide of the left post.
After the 90+6 minutes, the match concluded with New England holding on for the comfortable 4-1 victory.
