FOXBOROUGH, MA– The New England Revolution II have signed defender Jake Shannon & re-signed goalkeeper Max Weinstein ahead of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season.

Jake Shannon is a 22-year-old, 6’2, 180lb defender from Apex, North Carolina.

Shannon joins New England as his first professional club after a four-year collegiate soccer career at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (2022-25). During his career at UNCW, the defender was named to the Colonial Athletic Association Third Team (2022, 2023, & 2024) as well as CAA Co-Defender of the Year, CAA First Team honors, & United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region First Team honors (2025). The defender finished his career with 69 total games played & 6,219 total minutes played (4th most in UNCW history).

Shannon is no stranger to this New England Revolution II coaching staff as he re-joins Michael Milazzo (who coached him at North Carolina FC Academy) & joins Brad Knighton (member of the UNCW Hall of Fame).

In total club numbers, the defender has contributed 4 career goals, 4 assists, along with 6 yellow cards in collegiate play.

Maxwell Weinstein is a 21-year-old, 6’2, 185lb goalkeeper from Montpelier, Vermont.

Weinstein joined the New England Revolution Academy in 2020 after participating in one of the club’s Elite Player Pathway camps. He was a member of the 2022 U-19 MLS NEXT Cup Championship team. During his time with the U-19s, he was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament. He made his New England Revolution II debut in July of 2022 and signed an MLS NEXT Pro contract ahead of the 2023 season. He was the 9th player to ascend to the Revolution II’s roster from the Revolution Academy since 2020. During July of the 2025 season, Weinstein was loaned to Estonian side JK Tallinna Kalev (2025). At the conclusion of the 2025 season & his loan, Weinstein was left out-of-contract. He now has now re-signed with New England Revolution II.

In total career numbers, the goalkeeper has made 42 career appearances (3,750 minutes) where he has allowed 91 goals, registered 5 clean sheets, & 5 yellow cards & 1 red card.

Shannon joins a New England Revolution II defender group that features first teamers Keegan Hughes & Damario McIntosh along with second team defenders Gabriel Dahlin, Chris Mbai-Assem, & 2026 MLS SuperDraft pick Schinieder Mimy.

Weinstein re-joins a New England Revolution II goalkeeper group that includes first team goalkeeper Donovan Parisian (Armenia YNT) along with J.D. Gunn (Panama NT) & academy goalkeepers Owen Beninga, Julian Chapman, & Ryker Fauth.
