The Portland Timbers announced this Friday that Canadian keeper Maxime Crepau is entering free agency as an out-of-contract player. Crepeau spent time with the Timbers playing 15 games and splitting his time with his fellow goalkeeper James Pantemis after he took the starting role from him.
The good news is that Diego Chara is returning as the 39-year-old man from Colombia will continue playing until his body says enough! The man has been with the Rose City side for sixteen seasons and is still going strong since being the Timbers’ first Designated Player back in 2011.
With Felipe Carvallo and Matias Rojas, both players won’t be returning to the club as well as finishing an era for Cristhian Paredes after being with the club since 2018, as well as Dario Zuparic since he arrived in 2020, and not exercising his contract.
Phil Neville has been sure at his post and entering a third season in the helm of the Green and Gold after finishing with 44 points in eighth place, but losing to San Diego FC in the best-of-three series.
