FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution (8-8-15, 32 pts.) were defeated 1-0 versus Philadelphia Union (18-6-7, 60 pts.) on Saturday afternoon.
The match kicked off at 2:30 p.m. ET at Subaru Park to a crowd of 15,000.

Starting XI versus Philadelphia Union.
The match kicked off with New England starting from the center circle. They elected to play the ball backwards to Matt Turner who then launched the ball up into Philadelphia’s defensive third.
New England had the first opportunity of the match when a delivery into the area by Brandon Bye was met with a poor shot attempt by Allan Oyirwoth that was inevitably cleared in the 3rd minute.
Brayan Ceballos had the next chance for New England in the 6th minute when his headed effort off of a Carles Gil corner kick went just high over the bar.
The Philadelphia’s Union woke up in the 14th minute when a delivery into the area by Frankie Westfield was caught by goalkeeper Matt Turner.

In the 20th minute, Revolution midfielder Allan Oyirwoth was issued a yellow card for a high-boot foul on Danley Jean Jacques.
Union’s next chance came entering the 31st minute when yet another lofted delivery into the area, this time by Quinn Sullivan, was barely cleared out of the box and out for a corner kick by Peyton Miller.
Luca Langoni had the next chance for New England just 3 minutes later when a set-piece from the corner kick was sent into the area, was headed by Brayan Ceballos, and then fell for a volley attempt by Langoni that was sent high over the bar.

Philadelphia had the best chance of the match for Philadelphia when a corner kick taken by Kai Wagner in the 37th minute was headed down inside the six-yard box by Frankie Westfield and was met with a spectacular close-range save by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Less than a minute later, Matt Turner came up big for New England as he made yet another save after a shot attempt by midfielder Indiana Vassilev.
Tai Baribo had the next chance for Philadelphia in the in the 42nd minute when midfielder Indiana Vassilev slid a ball in-behind for Baribo which led him to unleash a shot attempt that was sent high over the bar.
After the initial 45+1 minutes, the match entered halftime with the scoreline level at 0-0.

The second half kicked off with Philadelphia Union starting from the center circle as they elected to swiftly advance the ball into New England’s defensive third.
In the 49th minute, Revolution defender Peyton Miller was issued a yellow card for fouling defender Frankie Westfield.
Jakob Glesnes had the first chance for the Union in the second half when a long distant effort in the 51st minute went just wide of the net.
New England had a chance in the 55th minute when a set-piece delivered to the back post was touched just wide of the net by Ilay Feingold.

Less than 2 minutes later, New England had yet another chance when Peyton Miller found Carles Gil atop of the box for a first time shot that snuck wide of the net.
In the 60th minute, Phialdelphia Union head coach Bradley Carnell made his first change of the match by replacing Danley Jean Jacques with Milan Iloski.
Just two minutes later, in the 62nd minute, Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf was issued a yellow card for delaying a quick restart.
Alhassan Yusuf had a massive volley attempt towards goal in the 65th minute but the ball was blasted off the face of Jakob Glesnes and was eventually cleared.
Entering the 70th minute, Philadelphia took the lead.

Following a through-ball by Francis Westfield, the ball went down the line to find Milan Iloski, who then centered the ball for Bruno Damiani for the tap-in finish to make it 1-0.
Following the goal, Revolution interim head coach Pablo Moriera made his first change of the match by replacing Alhassan Yusuf with Jackson Yueill.
In the 75th minute, Peyton Miller was issued his second yellow card for a shoulder barge & then threw the ball at the head of forward Tai Baribo. Miller was then issued a red card. Philadelphia Union forward Tai Baribo was also issued a yellow card. New England would play the remaining 15 minutes with 10 men.
Following the play, Phialdelphia Union head coach Bradley Carnell made his second change of the match by replacing Tai Baribo with Mikael Uhre.
In the 78th minute, Revolution interim head coach Pablo Moreira made his second and third changes of the match by replacing Ilay Feingold & Allan Oyirwoth with Will Sands & Tomás Chancalay.

Just 3 minutes later, in the 81st minute, Phialdelphia Union head coach Bradley Carnell made his third and fourth change of the match by replacing Bruno Damiani & Jesus Bueno with Chris Donovan & Jeremy Rafanello.
Union had yet another massive opportunity in the 85th minute when a shot from close-range by Quinn Sullivan was met with a spectacular tip save by goalkeeper Matt Turner.
In the 90+2 minute, Revolution interim head coach Pablo Moreira made his fourth & fifth change of the match by replacing with Matt Polster & Brandon Bye Andrew Farrell & Eric Klein.
Tomás Chancalay had the final chance for New England in the 90+3 minute when his shot was saved out for a corner kick by Andre Blake.
In the 90+4 minute, Revolution forward Tomás Chancalay was issued a yellow card for a high-boot.
After the 90+7 minutes, the match concluded with Philadelphia holding on for the 1-0 victory.
