The match kicked off with Toronto FC starting from the center circle as they elected to swiftly advance the ball into New England’s defensive third.
Tomás Chancalay had the first chance of the match when his long distant effort in the 7th minute was sent high and wide over the net.
Toronto FC had the first major chance in the first half when a headed effort by Deandre Kerr in the 9th minute was headed wide and out for a throw-in.
In the 14th minute, Toronto FC head coach Robin Fraser was forced to make his first change of the match by replacing Kevin Long with Sigurd Rosted.

In the 19th minute, Toronto FC defender Kobe Franklin was issued a yellow card for fouling Tomás Chancalay.
Carles Gil had the next chance of the match in the 21st minute when his left-footed effort was saved by goalkeeper Luka Gavran.
Matt Turner made a spectacular save in the 30th minute when a fantastic shot by Đorđe Mihailović towards the upper right corner of the net just missed.

New England’s next chance came in the 35th minute when a delivery into the area by Peyton Miller was headed just over the bar by Tomás Chancalay.
In the 37th minute, Revolution midfielder Allan Oyirwoth has been issued a yellow card for a foul on Đorđe Mihailović.
Alhassan Yusuf had the best chance of the match when a fantastic passing pattern between Peyton Miller & Carles Gil found him in-behind in the 39th minute, however, Yusuf sent his effort high over the net.

Less than a minute later, Toronto had a massive chance when Theo Corbeanu’s effort struck the post as goalkeeper Matt Turner was caught cheating in the net. The ball was then collected and cleared.
In the 41st minute, Tomás Chancalay was issued a yellow card for fouling Alonso Coello with a horse-collar esque tackle.
Toronto had yet another chance less than a minute later when a shot by Theo Corbeanu was met with a spectacular save by goalkeeper Matt Turner. The bell fell inside the area and players went to ground, but no foul was called, and the ball was eventually cleared.
After 45+4 minutes, the match entered halftime with the scoreline level at 0-0.

In the 52nd minute, Toronto FC head coach Robin Fraser made his second and third changes of the match by replacing Deandre Kerr & Jonathan Osorio with Jules-Anthony Vilsant & Maxime Dominguez.

Theo Corbeanu had yet another chance for Toronto FC in the 55th minute when his curling effort went just wide of the net.
Allan Oyirwoth had a big opportunity in the 62nd minute when an effort towards goal was blocked away.
In the 67th minute, Revolution defender Mamadou Fofana was issued a yellow card for fouling Jules-Anthony Vilsaint.
Entering the 74th minute, Toronto FC took the lead.

Forward Theo Corbeanu drove down the pitch, did a scissor move, and uncorked a low-driven shot into the bottom left corner to make it 1-0 to Toronto.
In the 76th minute, Toronto FC midfielder Đorđe Mihailović was issued a yellow card for fouling Carles Gil.
Just two minutes later, in the 78th minute, both teams made changes. Toronto FC head coach Robin Fraser made his final two changes by replacing Đorđe Mihailović & Jose Cifuentes with Markus Cimermancic & Richie Laryea. Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his first change of the match by replacing Tanner Beason with Brandon Bye.
In the 80th minute, Toronto FC midfielder Richie Laryea was issued a yellow card.

Allan Oyirwoth had a clear chance in the 82nd minute when his effort from outside the box was saved by goalkeeper Luka Gavran.
Less than a minute later, Matt Turner was forced to make a save to deny Jules-Anthony Vilsaint.
In the 85th minute, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his second & third change of the match by replacing Mamadou Fofana & Allan Oyirwoth with Sharod George & Will Sands.
Entering the 89th minute, New England leveled the scoreline.

Following a delivery into the area by Ilay Feingold, the ball fell for Luca Langoni whose deflected effort went into the net to make it 1-1.
In the 90+5 minute, Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf was issued a yellow card.
After the 90+6 minutes, the match concluded with in a 1-1 draw.
