Peyton Miller’s first career goal & Ilay Feingold’s brace leads New England to 3-0 victory over 10-men CF Montréal

FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution (6-5-4, 23 pts) were victorious 3-0 over CF Montréal (1-5-11, 8 pts) on Saturday night.

The match kicked off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Stade Saputo to a crowd of 15,000.

New England Revolution starting XI versus CF Montréal.

The match kicked off with New England starting from the center circle, building out of the right flank and advancing the ball into DC United’s defensive third.

New England had the first chance of the match came in the 3rd minute when a cross into the area was headed on by Keegan Hughes and then sliced across the area by Tanner Beason. His effort was saved out for a corner kick by goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois.

Nathan Saliba had the next chance for CF Montréal when his shot was easily saved by goalkeeper Aljaž Ivačič.

In the 14th minute, CF Montréal defender Luca Petrasso was issued a yellow card for taking down Revolution defender Ilay Feingold by half-field.

In the 19th minute, New England Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf was issued a yellow card for fouling midfielder Caden Clark right outside the New England penalty area.

CF Montréal had a massive chance to score in the 22nd minute when Dante Sealy, Giacomo Vrioni & George Campbell all had shots as the ball ricocheted in the box before it was cleared out for a CF Montréal throw-in.

Dante Sealy had another massive chance in the 33rd minute when he past Keegan Hughes and took a shot rather than passing to a wide-open Giacomo Vrioni. His shot was saved by goalkeeper Aljaž Ivačič.

In the 36th minute, CF Montréal forward Giacomo Vrioni was given a straight red card due to kicking out at defender Keegan Hughes. CF Montréal will play the remainder of the match with 10-men.

Ignatius Ganago had a chance to break the deadlock in the 45th minute when his left-footed shot crept just wide of the right post.

After 45+2 minutes, the match entered halftime with the scoreline level at 0-0.

Prior to the start of the second half, CF Montréal head coach Marco Donadel made his first change of the match by replacing Caden Clark with Prince Owusu.

The second half kicked off with CF Montréal starting from the center circle as they elected to quickly launch the ball into New England’s defensive third to begin the half.

Entering the 47th minute, New England took the lead.

Defender Ilay Feingold played a beautiful cross that was finished home by defender Peyton Miller for his first career MLS goal to make it 1-0 to New England.

In the 50th minute, CF Montréal midfielder Nathan Saliba was issued a yellow card for fouling Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf.

Following the play, CF Montréal head coach Marco Donadel was also issued a yellow card.

Defender Ilay Feingold dribbled into the area and unleashed a left-footed shot that was deflected into the net to make it 2-0 to New England.

In the 58th minute, Revolution midfielder Matt Polster was issued a yellow card for taking down CF Montréal midfielder Victor Loturi near midfield.

In the 61st minute, CF Montréal head coach Marco Donadel made his second and third changes of the match by replacing Victor Loturi & Dawid Bugaj with Tom Pearce & Joel Waterman.

Entering the 66th minute, New England had thought that they added to their lead after Peyton Miller found Ignatius Ganago open at the back post, however, the offsides whistle blew and the called was taken back. Still 2-0.

In the 70th minute, both teams made changes. CF Montréal head coach Marco Donadel made his fourth change of the match by replacing Luca Petrasso with Aleksandr Guboglo. Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his first two changes by replacing Tomás Chancalay and Ignatius Ganago with Luis Díaz & Maxi Urruti.

Luis Díaz had his first chance just two minutes after coming on by taking a right-footed shot that went extremely wide of the net.

Prince Owusu had a massive chance to pull one back for CF Montréal in the 74th minute, however, he sent his left-footed shot wide of the net.

In the 76th minute, CF Montréal midfielder Joel Waterman was issued a yellow card for a dangerous tackle on Tanner Beason near midfield.

In the 84th minute, CF Montréal head coach Marco Donadel made his fifth and final change by replacing Samuel Piette with Jules-Anthony Vilsaint.

Entering the 87th minute, New England added to their lead once again.

Defender Peyton Miller connected with defender Ilay Feingold for his second goal of the match.

In the 89th minute, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his third and fourth changes of the match by replacing Matt Polster & Ilay Feingold with Brandon Bye & Jackson Yueill.

Tom Pearce had a chance for CF Montréal in the 90th minute when his shot was comfortably caught by goalkeeper Aljaž Ivačič.

In the 90+3 minute, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his fifth and final change of the match by replacing Alhassan Yusuf with Eric Klein. Klein is making his MLS debut.

After the 90+6 minutes, the match concluded with New England holding on for the 3-0 victory.

With the result, New England remain in 10th place in the MLS Eastern Conference. New England are currently on a 9-game unbeaten streak (5W-4D-0L) in MLS play & currently sit 6-points out of 6th place with 2 games in hand.

Caleb Porter and New England Revolution (6-5-4, 23 pts.) return home road to face off against Eastern Conference side FC Cincinnati (9-3-5, 30 pts). The match is set to kickoff at Gillete Stadium on June 14th at 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
