The match kicked off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Children’s Mercy Park to a crowd of 18,467.

Forward Ignatius Ganago played a low-driven ball into the six-yard box that was finished home by Tomás Chancalay to make it 1-0.

Defender Peyton Miller delivered a low-driven ball across the goal mouth that was deflected in by Jacob Bartlett and into his own net to make it 2-0.
New England’s next chance came in the 32nd minute when a cross into the area by Peyton Miller went through the box and out for a throw-in.
Tomas Chancalay had a chance of his own in the 38th minute when his effort was comfortably saved by goalkeeper John Pulskamp.
After 45+2 minutes, the match entered halftime with New England ahead 2-0.

Prior to the start of the second half, Sporting Kansas City head coach Kerry Zavagnin made his first three changes of the match by replacing Tim Leibold, Magomed Suleymanov, & Andrew Brody with Logan Ndenbe, Erik Thommy, & Khiry Shelton.
The second half kicked off with Sporting Kansas City starting from the center circle as they elected to build out of the back to start the half.

Midfielder Erik Thommy unleashed a long distant shot that was initially saved by goalkeeper Aljaž Ivačič, however, the ball bounced back into the spacing to be tapped home by Daniel Sallói to make it 2-1.
Dejan Joveljić had a massive chance in the 55th minute when his effort was deflected off of Tanner Beason and struck the crossbar out for a corner kick.
Entering the 57th minute, Sporting Kansas City were granted a penalty kick after defender Mamadou Fofana took down forward Dejan Joveljić in the penalty area. Fofana was given a yellow card for the challenge.

The ensuing penalty kick taken by Dejan Joveljić was buried down the center of the goal to make it 2-2.

Midfielder Manu Garcia received a cross from defender Erik Thommy, chested the ball down and volleyed it into the bottom right corner to make it 3-2.
In the 64th minute, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his first change of the match by replacing Ilay Feingold with Brandon Bye.
Just three minutes later, in the 67th minute, Sporting Kansas City midfielder Manu Garcia was issued a yellow card for fouling Peyton Miller.
In the 71st minute, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his second and third change of the match by replacing Tomás Chancalay & Mamadou Fofana with Luis Diaz & Wyatt Omsberg.
Matt Polster had the next chance when his effort in the 73rd minute was comfortably saved by goalkeeper John Pulskamp.
In the 74th minute, Sporting Kansas City head coach Kerry Zavagnin made his fourth change of the match by replacing Robert Voloder with Daniel Rosero.

In the 75th minute, Sporting Kansas City midfielder Jacob Bartlett was issued a yellow card for a harsh foul on Alhassan Yusuf.
Entering the 76th minute, New England thought that they had equalized after a low-driven cross by Luis Díaz was sent across the area, tapped by Wyatt Omsberg, then struck Ignatius Ganago and in. Ganago was in an offsides position. Still 3-2 to SKC.
Following the check, Revolution head coach Caleb Porter made his fourth change of the match by replacing Tanner Beason with Maxi Urruti.
Maxi Urruti had a massive chance to score in the 81st minute when his effort from close-range was saved by goalkeeper John Pulskamp.
Brandon Bye had a massive chance just moments later when his header went just wide of the right post in the 83rd minute.
Entering the 84th minute, New England leveled the scoreline.

Winger Luis Díaz drove down the right flank and centered the ball to find forward Maxi Urruti for the simple tap-in to make it 3-3.
Following the goal, Sporting Kansas City Kerry Zavagnin made his fifth and final change of the match by replacing Jacob Bartlett with Joaquin Fernández.
New England had another chance to score in the 86th minute when a delivery into the area by Brandon Bye just missed Ignatius Ganago.
Alhassan Yusuf had a chance to take the lead when his effort in the 90+7 minute was sent high into the stands.
Erik Thommy had a great chance in the 90+9 minute when his effort went high over the net.
After the 90+12 minutes, the match concluded in a 3-3 draw.
