Following a free kick taken near the right corner flag, the ball was delivered by defender Nicolas Rincon and found the head of defender Christopher Rogers for the off the post finish to make it 1-0 to Columbus.
New England’s first chance came in the 9th minute when a deflected shot by Allan Oyirwoth went out for a corner kick.
Less than one minute later, New England had yet another chance when a quick-shot by Alex Monis was met with a stop by goalkeeper Stanislav Lapkes and out for a corner kick.
Entering the 21st minute, New England leveled the scoreline.

Following a long-ball by defender Gabe Dahlin, the ball fell kindly for forward Liam Butts, who managed to chip goalkeeper Stanislav Lapkes to make it 1-1.
Controversy occurred in the 34th minute when goalkeeper Stanislav Lapkes took down Marcos Dias in the penalty area, however, no penalty was called.
Columbus’ next chance came via a free kick in the 43rd minute. The delivery by Owen Presthus was headed away by defender Gabe Dahlin
New England’s next chance came via a corner kick that was headed on by Victor Souza and met with a palm save out for yet another corner by goalkeeper Stanislav Lapkes.
After the initial 45+2 minutes, the match entered halftime with the scoreline level at 1-1.

The second half began with New England Revolution II starting from the center circle and swiftly advancing the ball into Crew 2’s defensive third.
In the 53rd minute, Columbus Crew 2 defender Keesean Ferdinand went down with a non-contact knee injury. Crew II head coach Federico Higuain was forced replaced to replace Ferdinand with Málcom Palacios in the 56th minute.
In the 61st minute, Revolution II head coach Richie Williams made his first two changed by replacing Liam Butts & Gevork Diarbian with Damario McIntosh & Damorney Hutchinson.
New England’s first chance of the half came from a corner kick delivery by Marcos Dias that found Allan Oyirwoth atop the penalty area. His chest-trap then volley went just wide of the right post.
Less than one minute later, Alex Monis had a massive chance when his right-footed shot went just wide of the net.
Entering the 67th minute, Columbus regained the lead.

Following a shot by Brent Adu-Gyamfi that struck the crossbar, the ball came down and out and was then headed in by forward Chase Adams past diving goalkeeper Donovan Parisian to make it 2-1.
New England had a massive chance to equalize in the 70th minute when Damorney Hutchinson’s close range effort went just wide of the net.
Entering the 78th minute, Revolution II leveled the scoreline.

Midfielder Eric Klein’s cross into the area found the head of midfielder Cristiano Oliveira to make it 2-2. This is Cristiano Oliveira’s first professional goal.
Following the goal, Revolution II head coach Richie Williams made his third and fourth changes of the match by replacing Cristiano Oliveira & Alex Monis with Judah Siqueira & Grant Emerhi.
Forward Marcos Dias had a chance to take the lead for New England in the 85th minute when his shot was deflected away and cleared.
In the 88th minute, Columbus Crew 2 head coach Federico Higuain made his second change of the match by replacing Anthony Alaouieh with Juan Granda.
New England had a massive chance in the 90th minute to take the lead when Allan Oyirwoth’s effort went just over the bar.
In the 90+1 minute, Crew 2 defender Málcom Palacios was issued a yellow card.
In the 90+3 minute, Crew 2 midfielder Ibrahima Sy was issued a yellow card for time wasting.
After the 90+4 minutes, the match concluded in a 2-2 draw.

The Revolution’s first penalty kick taker was Marcos Dias, His right footed shot was converted into the middle right of the net to take the 1-0 lead.
Crew II first penalty kick taker was Chase Adams, His right footed shot was converted into the bottom right corner to level the scoreline at 1-1.
The Revolution’s second penalty kick taker was Damorney Hutchinson. His right footed went into the middle right corner to make it 2-1.
Crew II second penalty kick taker was Ibrahima Sy, His right footed shot struck the post and out in the bottom right corner to have New England lead 2-1.
The Revolution’s third penalty kick taker was Victor Souza. His right footed shot was scored in the middle left of the net to make it 3-1.
Crew II’s third penalty kick taker was Christopher Rogers, His right footed shot went high and wide over the crossbar.
The Revolution’s fourth penalty kick taker was Eric Klein. His right footed shot went into the bottom right corner to win it for New England 4-1.
