On December 20th, Costa Rican journalist Kevin Jiménez had reported that Díaz was close to signing with the New England Revolution & that the player was no longer with Deportivo Saprissa.
Sources close to Kevin Jiménez had confirmed that Díaz had left Saprissa officially on December 24th.
The club announced his departure later that day.
