After joining the Citizens the player released this statement via the club’s website:
“I’m really excited, City is a fantastic Club and I really can’t wait to start.
“I know quite a few people here and they’ve given me so many great reviews of the coaching, the facilities and playing style, and I really wanted to join that culture. It’s something completely different for me.
“I spoke with Nick Cushing and he really excited me as well. To play for City – an amazing Club with a lovely stadium and the fans – and to be part of something that is going to be amazing is really exciting.
“I want to learn and develop and I think I’m really going to do that here. I’m looking forward to working with the staff both on and off the pitch and take advantage of these incredible facilities.
“Another attraction was to be involved in the Champions League. I want to be up there, winning trophies. Watching City win the FA Cup and the League Cup made me really want to experience that.”
The striker was one of six strikers to be named in England Head Coach Phil Neville’s summer Women’s World Cup squad. White was alongside FC Barcelona’s Toni Duggan; Chelsea’s Fran Kirby; Former City player Nikita Parris; Arsenal’s Beth Mead and Jodie Taylor who currently plays for Seattle Reign.
30-year-old White has made 80 senior appearances for her national side starting from playing at England Under-17. Since though she has fought back from injuries and been included in the 2011 World Cup squad and also made the European Championships team back in 2013.
