Mamadou Fofana & Matt Turner named to MLS Team of the Matchday 9

FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution defender Mamadou Fofana & goalkeeper Matt Turner have made the MLS Team of the Matchday 9 following Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Atlanta United FC.

This is Fofana’s second appearance in TOTW this season.

This is Turner’s first appearance in TOTW this season.

Defender Mamadou Fofana obtained a starting position in the MLS Team of the Matchday 9 for his great performance on Wednesday evening. Fofana, who played all 90 minutes finished the match with an 8.4 rating according to Fotmob. Offensively, Mamadou had had 85 touches and 2 passes into the final third. The defender went 55/64 (86%) on accurate passes throughout the match with 2/8 accuracy on long balls (25%). Fofana defensively had 30 defensive contributions with 3 tackles, 1 block, 14 clearances, 7 headed clearances, 2 interception and 3 recoveries during the match. He went 5/5 (100%) on ground duels and had went 3/3 (100%) on aerial duels won.

Matt Turner was given a spot on Team of the Matchday 9 following his glorious performance on Wednesday night versus Atlanta United FC. Turner, who played the full 90 minutes in net, received an 8.9 man of the match rating according to Fotmob. Throughout the match, Turner went 37/45 (82%) on pass accuracy and went 5/13 (38%) on long-ball accuracy. He registered 7 saves, 5 of which were diving saves and 1 punch. He made 6 throws, 0 high claims, and had 11 recoveries throughout the match. He touched the ball 60 times and conceded 1 goal.

Marko Mitrović and the New England Revolution (5-0-3, 15 pts.) are on the road to face Eastern Conference side Inter Miami CF (5-3-1, 18 pts.). The match is set to kickoff at NU Stadium on Saturday, April 25th at 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
