Donovan Parisian named to “Team of the Round” after standout performance in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32

FOXBOROUGH, MA– New England Revolution goalkeeper Donovan Parisian has been named to the Team of the Round after his fantastic performance in New England’s 1-1 (4-1 in penalties) victory over Rhode Island FC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32.

This is Parisian’s first appearance in TOTW this season.

Donovan Parisian was given a starting spot on Team of the Round of 32 following his glorious performance on Wednesday night versus Atlanta United FC. Parisian, who played the full 120 minutes in net, received an 8.3 man of the match rating according to Fotmob. Throughout the match, Parisian went 26/41 (63%) on pass accuracy and went 3/18 (17%) on long-ball accuracy. He registered 4 saves, 2 of which were diving saves and 2 inside of his box. he additionally made 1 punch save. He made 7 throws, 33 high claims, and had 11 recoveries throughout the match. He touched the ball 56 times and conceded 1 goal.

Additionally, in the penalty kick shootout, Parisian made 3 back-to-back-to-back clutch penalty saves by denying Jojea Kwizera, Leo Afonso & JJ Williams to lead New England to victory.

Marko Mitrović and the New England Revolution (5-0-3, 15 pts.) are on the road to face Eastern Conference side Inter Miami CF (5-3-1, 18 pts.). The match is set to kickoff at NU Stadium on Saturday, April 25th at 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
