Soccer on the Sound: Stars drop second straight

Tacoma Stars 6-7 Empire Strykers

KENT, WA–The Tacoma Stars followed a 9-2 loss at Kansas City on Thursday with a 7-6 loss at home to Empire Strykers. For about 32 minutes of play, the Stars and Strykers exchanged goals, but the visitors would get three unanswered goals through Justin Stinson, Anthony Powell, and Walter Diaz to make it 6-3. The Stars tried to rally in the fourth quarter and leveled the scored after goals by Micheal Ramos, Nani Mendoza, and Chase Hanson. However, Lucas Ramalho scored what turned out to be the winning goal to give Empire the win.

The Stars now sit in fourth in the table at 5-4-0 and are level on points with Baltimore and St. Louis. This coming weekend, the Stars play a pair of home games at the ShoWare Center against bottom side Utica City SC. Kickoff on Saturday is at 6:05pm and 5:05pm on Sunday.
