Tacoma Stars 9-7 Kansas City Comets
KENT, WA–On Friday, the Tacoma Stars overcame a 6-3 first half deficit to defeat the Kansas City Comes, 9-7, at ShoWare Center in Kent. Lesia Thetsane had scored a first half hat trick for the visitors. The Stars replied in the second half with five unanswered goals and Jamael Cox netted a hat trick of his own to get the three points that put them level for the final playoff spot in the Major Arena Soccer League.
However on Sunday, the Stars hit a brick wall, or Wave, as Milwaukee thrashed the Stars, 11-4, at UWM Panther Arena. Alex Steinwascher scored just 13 seconds into the match and despite a Stars equalizer thereafter, the Wave got six of the next seven goals. Oscar Flores got a hat trick for the Wave who move to within one point of league-leading San Diego.
Meanwhile, the Stars are one point adrift of sixth-place Empire for the final playoff spot. It is the Empire Strykers whom the Stars play next on Thursday night (7:35pm PT) and then the Baltimore Blast on Saturday afternoon (4pm PT).
