Soccer on the Sound: Huskies put six past Gonzaga

Washington 6-0 Gonzaga

SEATTLE, WA–After an 0-2-0 start to the season, Washington have now 4-0-2 since after 6-0 thrashing of in-state rivals Gonzaga. The six goals puts the Huskies at 23 goals this season which ties Lindenwood for most in NCAA Division I.

Gonzaga was overcome by the Huskies’ pressure and wound up down a man after Terry Watson picked up two yellows in seven minutes. The second of the yellows led to a free kick that Charlie Kosakoff would put in at the half hour mark to give the Huskies the lead.

The flood gates opened in the second half as the Huskies netted five goals in seven minutes, 46 seconds. Alex Hall got two goals followed by goals for Zach Ramsey, Mani Diop, and Chad Sovde.

The Huskies return to Big Ten play on Saturday when they host Michigan. Kickoff is on Saturday at 7pm PT on B1G+.
