Portland Timbers Briefly

Contrary to their rival, in turn, San Diego FC, Phil Neville is looking for answers to fix his back-to-back losses and is now looking to rebound from this odd streak.

Back to the drawing board, you bet this team needs to stay on top for the postseason spots and not to lose ground. That’s why the team has been able to make a move or two in the summer market.

The arrival of Matias Rojas from Paraguay, Felipe Carballo, and Kristoffer Velde will reinforce the backfield and its offensive lacking a spark after Santiago Moreno’s departure to the Serie A Brazilian League.

The Portland Timbers need to rebound and leave their bad streak behind, and start making a decent run to the promised land of the postseason, and looking forward to making a good run in the playoffs.

My overall thoughts are that this club, with its new talent, will somehow rebound and start making an all-around statement all the way to the Western Conference playoffs and make a declaration in the end.

This team has loads of talent and needs to capitalize on this gift and deliver much-needed wins if they are to make it into the postseason. In the end, there’s one way to find out.

San Diego FC Briefly

What a year for manager Mickey Varas as he never envisioned the season for the debutante manager he was going to have, and man, for now he’s atop the Supporters Shield race tied currently with FC Cincinnati.

Still, nothing has been won after having a not-so-pleasant Leagues Cup run with a couple of losses and winning by the odd goal over Mazatlán FC. However, nothing was lost, at least they had a good experience, and there’s always a next year.

However, this isn’t a year seen by the team directives and looking good with their attack lead by Hirving Chucky Lozano, Anders Dreyer, and Jeppe Tverskov that this team is delivering wins after wins!

As many state that defense wins games, certainly this adage is very true with the team delivering every week a solid defensive backfield led by Bombino, McVeay, Dua, and Harangi, led by keeper CJ Santos.
