Soccer on the Sound: Stars blasted by Sockers

Tacoma Stars 5-9 San Diego Sockers

KENT, WA–Drew Ruggles netted a hat trick and Keko Gentan added two more as the San Diego Sockers defeated the Tacoma Stars, 9-5, at the ShoWare Center in Kent. Stefan Mijatovic scored twice in the fourth quarter for the Stars to pull them to within 6-5, but the Sockers would get the final three goals to come away with the win.

The Stars (1-5-1) drop to 11th in the MASL table while the Sockers move up to fifth. The Stars next play Saturday as they travel to Milwaukee to take on the Wave.
