KENT, WA–The two-time defending Major Arena Soccer League champion Chihuahua Savage continue to show why they are the champs as they defeated the Tacoma Stars 5-4 in a shootout following a 3-3 tie after regulation at the ShoWare Center on Sunday. Nick Perera got a brace for the Stars, but the Stars themselves would be kept off the scoresheet for the remainder of regulation and overtime. Pedro Castaneda netted a brace for Chihuahua.
Eight rounds of shootout were required and while Jorge Rios would score in the eighth round, Perera would not and the Savage got two points for the win while the Stars got a point for the shootout loss.
