Seattle Sounders FC 1-1 San Diego FC
SEATTLE, WA–One team was looking to keep pace with San Jose and Vancouver while the other was looking to get back to winning ways. Neither team got what they were looking for as they played to a 1-1 draw at Lumen Field. Seattle missed out on gaining ground on the Earthquakes and Whitecaps (also 1-1 draw), though they remain unbeaten in eight league matches, while San Diego drop to 12th in the West with Portland winning and are winless in their last nine league contests.
San Diego started off more brilliantly taking the lead after 18 minutes as Onni Valakari sent a through ball to Marcus Ingvartsen who beat Andrew Thomas far post. Jordan Morris thought he had equalized at the half hour mark, but was flagged for offside.
The Sounders kept pressing for an equalizer. They outshot the Chrome, 27-15, but just four of those 27 shots would be on target. The fourth one of those on target eventually found the back of the net in the 80th minute off a corner kick where a fortuitous deflection allowed Danny Musovski to drill it past Duran Ferree.

San Diego nearly stole the game two minutes later as Ingvartsen headed off the post and again in stoppage time as Andres Dreyer was denied by Thomas and then Ingvartsen shot the rebound over the bar.
Both teams have home games on Wednesday night. The Sounders host San Jose Earthquakes (6:30pm PT, Apple TV), while San Diego host Austin FC (6:30pm PT, Apple TV).
