FC Dallas 0-2 Houston Dynamo

FRISCO, TX–Goals by Jack McGlynn and Griffin Dorsey gave Houston the 2-0 win over FC Dallas in the first Texas Derby of the season and their first win at Toyota Stadium in 14 years. It’s back-to-back wins for the Dynamo while FCD have won just once in their last seven league matches.

The first half was a goalless affair, though it was nearly broken in the 38th minute by Anderson Julio who tried to chip the keeper from behind midfield only for the ball to be parried over the bar by Jonathan Bond. Shaq Moore also came close only to be denied by Bond.

The deadlock was broken in the 64th minute with a laser shot by McGlynn from 30 yards out that went by Michael Collodi and into the net. Dorsey made it 2-0 from just inside the area following a give-and-go with Toyosi Olusanya.

The Dynamo next go to Austin to take on Austin FC in a Round of 16 US Open Cup tie on Wednesday at 8pm CT on Paramount+. FC Dallas travel to New York Red Bulls on Wednesday night for a 6:30pm CT kickoff–also on Paramount+.
