KENT, WA–The Tacoma Stars completed a weekend sweep of the Harrisburg Heat with scored of 8-4 on Friday night and 8-7 on Sunday night. On Friday, Tyler John, Nick Perera, and Kyle Rivers all had braces for the Stars. The Stars outscored the Heat, 5-2, in the second half.
Then on Sunday, after going down 3-2, the Stars scored four unanswered goals to go up 6-3. The Stars then withstood a comeback attempt by Harrisburg and held on for an 8-7 victory. With the wins, the Stars moved up to ninth in the table and one point behind Dallas for the eighth and final playoff spot in the MASL (top eight make the playoffs). Harrisburg remains second from bottom with the two losses. The Stars have eight matches to play.
It is another Friday-Sunday doubleheader at the ShoWare Center in Kent for the Stars this coming weekend. But this time, it will be against fourth-place Baltimore Blast. Kickoff time on Friday is 7pm and on Sunday is 5pm.
