Vancouver Whitecaps 3-2 Portland Timbers

VANCOUVER, BC–No miracle for the Portland Timbers back at BC Place in Vancouver, B.C., for the Rose City side, Portland had a 2-1 lead after a spectacular strike from Juan Mosquera in the 36th minute and later from David Da Costa itwo minutes into first half stoppage time to close off the first half with the lead after a sixth minute goal by the Whitecaps’ Edier Ocampo which was the result of a long ball from Yohei Takaoka and James Pantemis well off his line.

However, five minutes of stoppage time became too much for the Timbers as a handball in the box on Anthony Alves Santos led to a Thomas Müller penalty goal and then Sebastien Berhalter scored the winner in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time off a feed from Emmanuel Sabbi.

Still, the Portland Timbers went on with a fight, but with no success in their house of horrors. In the end, this team went with a close fight and delivered, but came short in the end. Their next match will be  tough one at home against LAFC.
